All expenses paid. Times Square hotel. Rockefeller Center. Metropolitan Museum of Art. Central Park. Fifth Avenue. Greenwich Village. Sex and the City shoot (thanks Kelly!). Not bad for a couple of kids in one day.

So our landlord didn't pay the mortgage on the house we rented and in the span of a week, we went from planning our first party to planning the very last one at this residence. Seems that I'm not quite that snap-happy when I'm the one throwing the party.

Hey, let's walk to one of the missions. How hard could it be? Just a couple miles down this Mission Trail. It was a thick red line on the map, emphasizing that any mild-manner tourist could surely find it. The map failed to point out that you would have to pass by the power plant, underneath the overpass, the entire time second-guessing yourself. But we made it there all the same. It was at that point, when we reached Mission Concepción, that we realized us Northerners would surely be vexed by the rays of the Texas sun, stronger than ever in a bright November noon. Afterwards, lunch in the shade and a proper tour of the Alamo.

The last time I took a proper vacation was the spring of last year, so I fairly anxious to get a while for a little bit. Erin's conference in San Antonio was the perfect opportunity. Our first meal there was at Casa Rio. The food wasn't the best, but it's kind of an essential stop on the Riverwalk. After waking up super early to get the flight, walking around the city a bit, and then stuffing myself with Mexican, my body had no problem completely shutting down as I dived into an intense food coma nap. That night we went back to the Riverwalk. Margaritas and people watching.

Took a couple days off back in October to see Jimmy and go to the Smashing Pumpkins show. Before I left the morning after, I took a couply snaps walking around. True to Pittsburgh form, it was more blustery than I could have imagined, given how pleasant the weather was the day before.
