Saturday I took a day trip up to Washington DC with Erin. Turned out to be to quite a magical day. One of those picturesque autumn days where leaves fall with every breeze and you're comfortable just wearing a sweater. We did the typical tourist thing: just visiting the memorials and a museum before heading back home. But that's not to say we didn't fully enjoy it.

Be sure to check out the pic on the bottom right. One exhibit featured this Blackout Kit from post WWII. I thought the packaging was hilarious (I know its somewhat ignorant to make fun of stuff just for being old and dated), with the soldiers aiming their guns into the night sky. I doubt anything so offensive would ever be sold in toy stores today.
